Nick Glaves, Managing Director

A former journalist, Nick started his career writing about country matters for titles such as The Countryman’s Weekly, The Field, and much loved Yorkshire magazine, the Dalesman. He then moved on to become a staff writer on weekly newspapers, ascending the ranks to become the business editor of one of the UK’s biggest-selling regional daily titles.

Nick grew up on the edge of the North York Moors in a family of livestock farmers and founded Red Stag Media in 2016 due to his passion for agriculture.

Rob Marsden, Head of Digital

Rob started his digital career over a decade ago in the area of search engine optimisation and went on to become the Head of SEO at one of the UK’s largest independently owned digital agencies.

In 2017, his SEO team won Organic Team of the Year at the Drum Search Awards. He then went on to become the Head of Digital at the same agency where he also became responsible for the PR, social media, and creative service lines.

His passion for the working countryside was the driving force behind his wanting to focus his work in this area which is when he joined Red Stag Media.

Dan Urben, Creative Director

A former newspaper and website editor, our creative director has more than 20 years of experience in creating, crafting, and delivering award-winning content across papers, magazines, radio, and a range of online and social platforms. He is also a master photographer and film-maker, whose work has featured in The Times, Telegraph, and Daily Mail, as well as in Vogue Italia.

Dan’s deep understanding of how different types of content work across different platforms – and how consumers engage with that content – brings high-value tangible results to our clients.

Ben Pindar, PR Account Manager

Ben has almost 30 years of experience in media, international PR and marketing and has worked with a host of global corporate clients, government organisations and media outlets. He’s passionate about developing creative strategies, grabbing headlines and writing compelling content.

Ben grew up in the horticulture industry, with his stepfather being one of the UK’s leading growers, but followed a career in journalism and worked through the ranks of national and regional newspapers before becoming editor of a number of titles. He has also gained extensive event experience, working with a leading event production company.

Antony Smith, Marketing Manager

With more than 5 years’ experience in marketing, Antony has an impressive track record of creating and implementing results driven campaigns for large UK and international brands most notably in his time with Lancashire Cricket Club.

Antony’s role is to effectively communicate and promote our story to the agribusiness sector to showcase the impact our services can have for the industry’s top brands and businesses.

Jo Marsden, Accounts & Credit Control

Jo has a long background in payroll and credit control, predominantly in the care sector but with experience in retail banking and utilities. Jo joined Red Stag Media in 2022 to head up the administerial side of the business.

Paid Media Specialist

Red Stag Media is a leading digital marketing and PR agency that works with a range of ambitious UK and international agricultural businesses.

We are passionate about agriculture and the rural economy and believe the fast-paced innovation and diverse opportunities make this a fascinating industry to work in.

We work with a range of clients from small startups to Global PLCs and now want a Paid Media Specialist to join the team and help to drive the growth of our online advertising offering. You don’t need to have any knowledge of agriculture to be successful as you will pick it up along the way and be supported by a collaborative and knowledgeable team.

Red Stag Media is based in the heart of agricultural East Yorkshire – yet has great links to Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, York and North Lincolnshire – and operates on a hybrid home-office working routine.

We work nationally and offer the best of both worlds in terms of having a rural office location, but with easy access for staff who may live in nearby cities.

We are looking for an online advertising expert to fill the position of Paid Media Specialist for the agency.

Reporting to our Head of Digital, you will have a good all round working knowledge of different online advertising platforms including, but not limited to, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, and have experience of running online paid advertising campaigns and delivering results for multiple clients, ideally in an agency environment.

 

Key skills and experience required

  • A good all round working knowledge of different online advertising platforms including, but not limited to, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, and LinkedIn Ads
  • Experience of running online paid advertising campaigns and delivering results for multiple clients, ideally in an agency environment
  • Experience of putting together strategies which include paid search, paid social, display advertising, and video advertising across both B2B and B2C
  • Sound knowledge Google Analytics
  • Experience of using landing page building tools such as Unbounce would be an advantage
  • Excellent personal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients
  • Must be commercially aware and operate always in the best interest of the clients’ business
  • Strong organisation skills
  • An ability to look at and understand data, and make strategy decisions based on it
  • An intrinsic motivation to succeed and achieve results for clients
  • A strong desire to learn and test new things

Roles and Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients where paid media is part of the engagement
  • Take responsibility of the implementation of a paid media strategy for the accounts that you’re assigned to as the paid media specialist
  • Build, review, and amend online advertising strategies based on how they’re performing, always with the aim of delivering the best ROI for the client
  • Communicate regularly with clients to keep them up to date on the campaigns we’re running for them, demonstrating the value we’re adding to their business
  • Communication will comprise of regular email exchanges, ad hoc phone calls, scheduled regular campaign catch-up calls and on-site business review meetings
  • Carrying out hands-on work inline with the activity setout in the strategy. This could include (but not limited to):
    • Carrying out new campaign builds across various online advertising platforms
    • Ongoing campaign optimisation of paid media campaigns
    • Working with designers and copywriters to create new ad creative
    • Analysing data and using the findings to improve ROI over time
    • Ensuring that the agreed budgets agreed with clients are met and that maximum return is generated from them
    • Produce regular written reports to keep clients up to date with the performance of their campaigns
  • Act as Red Stag Media’s paid media voice in the agricultural industry, contributing to the agency’s own content marketing strategy and supporting the Marketing Manager with running its paid media campaigns
  • Prepare for and attend new business pitches where required. This includes working on new business proposals
